Platine Festival premieres in Cologne
Light writing, experimental installations and 8bit music – These are only some of the keywords that describe Platine, a festival for electronic culture and alternative gaming forms. The festival will be held from August 16th to 19th 2010 on different venues in Cologne’s Barrio Ehrenfeld, among them are Artheater, Design Quartier Ehrenfeld and Studio 11.

Two New Motion Promos for Error Broadcast
Besides working freelance for Düsseldorf based Blinkenlichten, I have finished two animated promos for the folks at Error Broadcast.
Both motion designs are personal approximations to the style of the given cover artwork. The Videos are licences under a creative commons licence.

Das Asylabwehramt (AAbA) lädt vor
Nach ein paar Ölmalerei-Ausflügen im Golf von Mexiko in den vergangenen Wochen beschäftigt sich ubermorgen.com in ihrem aktuellen Projekt in bürokratisch-kalter Amtsästhetik mit dem Themenkomplex Asyl/Abschiebung/Abschottung in Europa:
“Das Asylabwehramt (AAbA) ist dem Abwehramt (AbwA) und dem Bundeasylamt übergeordnet und untersteht dem Bundesministerium fuer Landesverteidigung und Sport (BMLVS). Die teilanonyme und teilautonome Behörde ist zuständig fuer Prävention, Asylgesuchstellung im Ausland, Anonymisierung des Asylverfahrens, Aufklärung des Schlepperwesens, Immigrationsdiversion, Abwehr von überzähligen Flüchtlingen und AsylbewerberInnen, Selektion (Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge, Einbürgerungen), geheime Abschiebungen (kontrollierte Ausreisen), Migrationsanalysen, Automatisierung des Asylwesens, Volksschutz, Vermeidung von Retraumatisierung und dem Ausbau bürokratischer Hindernisse.”
Sehenswert, auch wenn dieses Adjektiv angesichts der tristen Thematik nicht gut über die Lippen kommt, sind auch die Büroräume des Amtes und vor allem das Edutainment-Video.
